Art Portfolio One: Project Statement
The theme that I chose for the project was pop art. My progression is fashion design. I wanted to make a collection based on dessert colour which is pastel colour, such as cake, marshmallow, and macaroon. The progression that I made was I tried to find the colour schemes that I can use it on the internet - Adobe Color, rough sketches to try and eliminate and determine what is the best for the project.
The 2D outcomes that I will make 6 or more design sketches digitally and make slideshow using Canva. The 3D outcomes that I am going to make is a dress using material that is affordable. Then, the design I will focus on the shape and the colour because I want to make a dress with shape that has similarity with the desserts, like macaroon, cake, and others and using pastel colours for the colour scheme.
The designers that inspire me are Harikrishnan, Sun Woo, and Scarlett Yang. The reason is because they created unique designs that will not be used for daily but for occasional event or party.
The materials that I might use for the 3D design are rope, paper, newspaper, the mannequin, stapler, and corset boning. Furthermore, the skills that I will try to develop for this project is how to make a corset top for a dress and creative thinking skills to generate a lot ideas for unique and appealing designs.
Moreover, this fashion designs will targeted for young people, especially for the Gen Z who likes attending to a party or event due to the unique or weird design will not be used in daily wear, so it will suitable for event or party dress. Also, the young people who has medium to high level of income because to make a unique design with sustainable material going to be pricey for the materials.
