Making a Tote Bag - Workshop

    On Friday, 9th February 2024, I joined a workshop to learn how to use a sewing machine to help me with the final project when I create the 3D design corset. However, not only that, I made a tote bag as the outcome. Here, I want to share what I did in the workshop. This is the tutorial video; click here.

  Firstly, I pinned the fabrics already cut based on the size I needed or wanted. Then, I sewn it. However, I sewed the side and the bottom and left the top (I did not sew).

    

    Next, the fabric was the same size as before, and I pinned it again. Then, I sewed it again based on what I pinned. And I sewed the bottom and the sides. On the left side, I made a distance of approximately 3 inches for the inside of the bag. 

    Then, I made a triangle shape on the edge of the bag and measured for one inch to create a line. I sewed and cut under the sewing. This also happened to the other side of the bag.

    This, I created the straps for the bag. I put old fabrics before the white fabrics to make the straps stiff. And I sewed the long sides of the straps.

       After that, I sewed the straps to the bag.

    After, all was done, I pulled the inside of the bag.

    This is the final outcome. 

    I love to make something new, and I really enjoy sewing. However, I need to practice sewing to sew straight and tidily. Also, this workshop benefited me because I will make a corset and use the sewing machine, and I know how to do it properly. Overall, I love to do this workshop.
