Week 6 Experimentation - Colour and Design
In this post, I will share the experiment with colour and design. I expand the idea of my design and colour. This will help me finalise the concept of my design collections for the 2D designs and help me find the uniqueness of this collection. The collection's name is 'The Sweet Dreams Collections', which focuses on pastel colours, different shapes of corsetry, and constructivism or layering.
These are the main ideas of my fashion designs that I will make wider to create the designs I want to put in the collections. I made five of the designs with corsetry, and because not all the designs have constructivism, I will expand the ideas to better designs that aim the focus of the collections.
This, I experimented with colour using watercolour. I am going to change the designs, and I will explore another colour because I am still not sure this is good enough and suits the collections.
This is the rough sketch on paper and I used pencil.
And, this after the colouring process. I used Procreate as my medium.
These experimentations helped me determine the colours that suited the design and what design I could put into the collection. The ideas were improved from the rough basic idea, and then I expanded the idea to different designs. I learnt from doing this experimentation because it made me think more creatively and wider to make the designs more exciting. Moreover, the collection that I am going to create is about corsetry, and this experimentation helped me make different shapes of corsetry in every design, making it interesting.
Can you add more about why you have chosen these colours? What specifically did you not like about the watercolour colours and why have you chosen these palettes?
