Aims and Objectives - Intended Outcomes
The theme of my project is pop art. I chose the theme because I like pop art culture, such as music, movie, clothing, and more, especially with colours. I like the colourful scheme that the pop culture usually use, so I chose this theme as my choice to work on for my final project. Additionally, the outcome I produced for my project is in 2D and 3D design; for my 2D design, I will draw the designs as many as I can and choose six of them that I feel the best. Then, I will edit it in Photoshop and put it on Canva to generate as a slide, either to make it a flipbook or to stay as a slide portfolio. Moreover, for my 3D design, I will make a corset.
Due to my focus on art, I have explored colours that I am going to use in my designs. Then, I will explore how to make a corset by de-constructing the one I already bought online.
Planning and Timescale
This is my plan to complete the art portfolio term 1 project.
Contextual Research
I have researched three artists or designers who inspired me and are helpful for my final project, including Harikrishnan, Vivienne Westwood, and Sun Woo.
Harikrishnan is a fashion designer from India who moved to the UK to become a fashion designer. He is famous for his inflatable trousers. The trousers are made from latex. Even though the colour palette that he used is quite simple, the trousers' shape is unique, making his artwork exciting and attractive. It motivated me to create a unique design of corsets and did not rule out the possibility that I could create clothes using any kind of material; out-of-the-box ideas.
Vivienne Westwood, who does not know the famous Vivienne Westwood? Especially with her corset work. She is famous because she made an incredible corset that many people can enjoy. She created the iconic corset with a painting in it. The corset that I have researched does not have a name. However, the corset became popular because the painting by Francois Boucher's Daphnis and Chloe is on Westwood's work. I inspired her work to go out of her comfort zone, whereas the others focused on the trends, but she chose to popularise her putting with the old painting. Also, she inspired me to create many silhouettes for a corset; her corset has many shapes that I can explore too.
Sun Woo is a Korean fashion designer famous because of her collapsible dress. Her collapsible dress is made by a tent. The material she used is unique; it makes me amazed with her work. Not only that, but the shape that she created for her dress is fantastic and peculiar. She is using an uncomplicated and plain colour, but combining it with the shape of the dress is suitable because the dress is already unique; a simple colour is the perfect match. Moreover, she inspired me to create a unique design shape because creating something out of the box will create a personal image for the designers and be easy to recognise.

Final Pieces
Reflection
The success of this project so far is that I managed to create six designs that linked with each other; colours and the fashion designs, and met my expectations; I managed to create a better portfolio than last term. One thing I am so happy about in my work is that I can make designs using the colour palette that I have explored, and it works well in my designs. However, there is also one thing that I can improve. I am still not making the 3D design yet, so I need to start working on it because if I do not, I will leave it behind.
