Trends on every year will change, as well as this year trends and the last year trends is different. In this research, I will focusing on autumn/winter trends on 2023. The purpose of this research is to give insight about trends that will be or is happening nowadays because on November autumn is ongoing. Moreover, this trends might help me to give me ideas for my project that I need to make designs that inspired by 'The Empress' by a major arcana of tarot card.
Firstly, the trend for autumn/winter collection on 2023 is feather outfit. The feather outfits are shown by many designer brands on their fashion week, such as, Valentino, Gucci, Bottega Venetta, and more. The feathers outfit become trendy because to show the rock 'n roll and symbolic of freedom. Also, feathers outfit is believed 'all the times feathers have appeared in the history of fashion, and limit ourselves to reminding you that in every era they have been a symbol of social status and self-celebratory decoration' (nss magazine, n.d.).
Next, the leather outfit. Same as feather outfit, leather outfits were popular or become one of trends for autumn/winter 2023 because of the fashion week that held by the designer brands, such as Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Chanel, and others. Even though, each designer brands showing the leather outfits with a different designs and combinations, 'Bottega Veneta combines ostrich leather with crocodile skin, Chanel offers leather trench coats embellished with camellias, Gucci introduces business leather suits' (L’Officiel Baltic, 2023). However, they make the focus point is on the leather fabrics. Additionally, wearing a leather outfit believed that appealing and affluent.
Floral prints outfit is also one of trends for autumn/winter collection on 2023. Usually, the floral prints dress is identic with femininity, however, on 2023, the floral prints outfit is more showing the grungy looks. 'Dark and moody blooms were the order of the day at Erdem, McQueen and Balenciaga, creating the perfect base for winter outfit ideas. Meanwhile, Chanel, Jil Sander and Louis Vuitton opted for monochrome flower iterations on their catwalks' (Kraskowski, 2023). Also, this outfit is easy to combine with other accessories, such as leather, boots, belts, and others.
Overall, these trends are introducing for the autumn/winter season on 2023. However, these trends might be included into my fashion designs for my final project. Also, the trends are not only three trends, there are so many more and interesting to try on.
