Robe Making Process - Part 2

Next, I made the hood for the robe. At first, I did not think to put a hood on the robe, but when it was ready, I thought it was too simple and not that exciting. So, I made the hood more excellent.

    Process

Firstly, I made a pattern for the hood and watched a video about the guidelines for making it. The hood's neckline is the same size as the robe's.

Then, I traced it to the same wool and double-lining fabrics I used for the robe. The double-lining fabric I got from Vijay Patel was free. After that, I folded the fabrics and cut them after I traced them.

Next, I sewed together each fabric, the wool and the double lining, because after I cut the fabrics, it will have two parts, and I needed to make it once first. Then, I sewed together the wool and the double-lining fabrics. I used the same technique to make the robe; turning the cloth over and facing it again.

I unstitched twice in the process because I put the fabrics wrongly. Also, I needed to unstitch the top of the hood because it would look weird if I stitched it together, like for the side of the hood. Then, I put it together to the robe.

Then, I sewed together with the robe. And, I marked the before unstitch for the hood.

Moreover, I got the idea to make the top of the hood look nicer, so I folded it to the inside and stitched it from the inside, too. Some parts need to be hand-stitched because the fabric is too thick.

The robe is already 99% finished just need to add the button and the loop hole. And, I will iron it to make the fabric look tidier and nicer.

    Added

I added the button and the loop hole. I used gold button to give luxury look for the robes and the loop hole I made it using spare fabric. Then, I added binding to give yellow stripes on the side of the robes.

Moreover, I made a ribbon from the fabric that I used for double line and the skirt. The ribbon to make the school uniform looks complete.
